The pandemic that is affecting the world nowadays entailed an important limitation in people's lifestyle, which has been reinforced by Uruguayan Government's request of not attending hospitals in order to reduce the risks of being infected. This situation has made an important change in the way medicine is practiced, becoming of paramount importance the use of new technologies, which enhanced the use of telemedicine. In this context, Uruguay recently enacted a new Act on Telemedicine whose main goal is to structure and develop it.
