Hughes & Hughes invites students from any University of Law and Economics of our country, both public and private, to participate in a contest where they have to submit an essay that contributes to the promotion, regulation and control of the sport law in Uruguay, as sport is one of the main elements of cultural identity, human development, social participation and economic growth factor.
From this perspective there are emerging alternatives to consider, for example:
What conditions does our country require to modernize the structure of sport? Are the structures or sporting institutions attractive schemes for investment and development of sport? In what ways is the state´s participation relevant? Are international models of promotion and development of sport portable to Uruguay?
The winning essay will be selected by a jury composed of:
- Dr. Alfredo Etchandy, Sub-director de Secretaría Nacional de Deportes
- Dr. Luis Alberto Castillo, Presidente de la Federación Uruguaya de Basquetbol
- Dr. Pablo Ferrari, Secretario de la Unión de Rugby del Uruguay
The winner will have the possibility of a six-month internship at Hughes & Hughes and receive a sum of USD 1,000 books, which can be purchased at any specialized library.
All participants are invited to the ceremony on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 19:00 in CAFO Museo del Estadio Centenario, where the jury will make a return on the papers presented and will announce the winners of the contest.
