On Wednesday June 3, Marcela Hughes, partner of Hughes & Hughes, was awarded in New York as "The Best Corporate Lawyer in Latin America" by the prestigious publication Euromoney in the "Women in Americas Business Law Awards ".
In addition, Hughes & Hughes was recognized for the fourth consecutive year as "Uruguay Firm of the Year".
Marcela Hughes is co-responsible partner of the corporate department and head of Mergers and Acquisitions Department of the Firm. She is evaluated by customers as a person who has high professional standards, an incredible level of energy, strong commitment and knowledge of the customer´s business and that always will always go the extra mile to support the customer.
Hughes said: "It´s been many years of commitment and dedication with the strong conviction that the philosophy of work of the Firm is the only way to exercise law and the best way to serve our customers. That is to provide a superior service with passion within a framework of strict ethics. The most gratifying thing about this award is that this way of working is valued. About the role of women in the study, Hughes commented that "in every work team the mix is very important. In multidisciplinary teams different visions and the integration for men, women, young people with energy and new ideas and people with gray hair and experience and wisdom, is essential.
